I absolutely love teaching. Being a teacher provides me with a sense of purpose and meaning when I see my students flourish on a daily basis. It brings me so much joy when my students realize their true potential and know how successful they really can be. I live in La Crosse, WI with my husband Mark. We have two wonderful kids. Our daughter Izzy attends Aquinas Middle School and our son Max attends Blessed Sacrament. My husband Mark and I are both Aquinas Alumni and are very excited and blessed to have the chance for our kids to follow in our footsteps, as students of Aquinas Catholic Schools. We are members of Blessed Sacrament Parish and are thankful we can raise our children in a great Catholic school system. In my spare time, I love spending time with family and friends, cooking, walking, watching our kids’ sporting events, and traveling.

I have 17 years of experience working with elementary and middle schools. I started my career as a 6th grade teacher in Zionsville, IN. During my 12 years in Indiana, I was selected as one of the lead pilot teachers to start a 1:1 laptop program for our community school district. I also taught 1 year in Jacksonville, FL, where I assisted in starting another 1:1 laptop program for a new school. After 13 years of teaching, I took a step away for several years to focus on our family and spend more time with our kids. When we moved back to La Crosse to be closer to family, I started subbing for Aquinas Catholic Schools. I took on 2-long term substitute positions at Blessed Sacrament Elementary in Science and Math. This year is my 2nd full year at Blessed Sacrament Elementary. I am also the 6th grade Leadership Club Coordinator.

My teaching profession is very important to me.  I strive to look for new ways to enhance my personal and spiritual growth by attending educational conferences or other education training opportunities.

MY CLASSROOM

My classroom is an enviorment that fosters love, kindness, and acceptance.  Students are greeted at the door every day as they enter my classroom.  We start each day with prayer and expectations for the day.  I expect all my students to treat others as they would like to be treated.  I create a dynamic classroom experience by using different teaching strategies to meet the needs of all my students. In doing so, I am able to establish a positive  relationship with my students that strongly influences learning.  I want each student to feel successful and to know their true potential.
