I was born in Oklahoma, but I’ve moved around quite a lot. I have been blessed with many varied opportunities to teach students in all grades kindergarten through 8th grade. I have taught mostly in Texas, but I also taught in Anchorage, Alaska when my husband was stationed at the Army base there. My family moved from Texas to this area a little over a year ago and we have really enjoyed the delightful weather and beautiful surroundings. Being able to enjoy each season outside is definitely wonderful. Winter is my favorite season and I absolutely love the snow!
One of our favorite family activities is playing in the beautiful snow. I enjoy reading and learning odd facts to share with my classes in WOW Wednesday moments. I strive to stay curious and remind myself to take moments to just breathe and be amazed by the world God has created.

MY CLASSROOM
I believe students gain scientific knowledge through varied learning experiences such as observations of others, personal experiences in hands-on labs, group and independent work, and sharing their knowledge with others. Students are expected to work respectfully with others, be open to new ideas and ways of viewing the world around them through a scientific lens, and to strive to always do their best. My classroom is a place where all students can feel comfortable knowing that being brave and willing to try is worth the risk of making mistakes and/or being wrong.
